What Size Pet Bed?
To work out what size bed to buy for your dog or cat measure your pet from the tip of its nose to the base of its tail (where the tailbone connects to the rump) when it is lying down in its normal sleeping position and then add 15cm - 20cm for your pet's ease and comfort. This measurement will give you the diameter or length of bed your pet needs, e.g. if your dog's neck to tail measurement is 40cm, add about 15cm for comfort and that means you should look at buying a bed that measures around 55cm - 60cm in length or diameter.
The measurements of individual beds are given in centimetres within each item description on this website but the images below might also help you to visualise the size you need for your pet.
The small white mannequin measures 15cm high to the shoulder and 15cm from the base of neck to base of tail.
The larger black mannequin measures 27cm high to the shoulder and 30cm from the base of neck to base of tail.

What Size Pet Collar?
Buying the right size collar for your pet can be confusing because manufacturers use a variety of means to size their collars. Unfortunately this means that just because your pet already has a 35cm collar that fits perfectly you cannot assume that 35cm is the correct length to buy for his/her new collar.
To assist you in making the right choice, on this website each collar has an individual sizing chart that is tailored to that particular manufacturer's conventions. This can mean that your pet's collar size will vary when comparing different collar styles.
We cannot recommend more strongly to always measure your dog's or cat's neck before ordering a new collar. The effort of finding a tape measure is far less than the disappointent and frustration experienced when you receive a collar that is too small or large. Plus the postage incurred can turn a well-priced item into an expensive one.
To do this accurately run a tape measure around your pet's neck where the collar will naturally sit while keeping one or two fingers between your pet's neck and the measuring tape to allow for your pet's comfort. Then compare your pet's neck measurement with the sizing chart for the collar you wish to buy to see which collar size should be the best fit. If your pet's neck measurement is between collar sizes, buy the larger size.
What Size Pet Clothes?
Pet clothes sizes vary a lot from brand to brand so you cannot assume that because your pet takes a particular size in one brand that it will take the same size in another. To get the closest fit for your pet it is best to measure your pet's Back Length (from the base of the neck to the base of the tail), Girth (around the widest part of the chest), and Neck (where its collar naturally sits).
This picture shows you where I mean.

Match your pet's measurements as closely as possible to those given in the item description. If in doubt it is generally better to choose the larger of two sizes as most apparel has adjustable fastenings allowing for some variation under the tummy and around the neck.
